Help North Carolina

Hi! I'm Jenn, and I've compiled a list of organizations that you can donate to to support those impacted by Hurricane Helene.

Hurricane Helene devastated North Carolina. I spend most of my days sharing good news, but today, I'm hoping to help you make a difference. I'll do my best update this list to ensure it stays current, and add organizations as necessary. While I've done my best to vet these organizations, you should always research before donating. This list is for convenience only.Local efforts need support now for immediate impact, but I've included both local and national options. If you know other reputable human or animal relief organizations, please email [email protected].

What kind of organization should I donate to?

My list includes national charities and local organizations. As a general rule, donations to local organizations will see the most immediate impact, as they may be distributed to residents within hours or days. Donations to national organizations will see the broadest impact, as their scope includes a larger geographic area, but it'll take longer for those donations to make their way to people in need. Ensuring local and national organizations are supported will help North Carolinians rebuild today, tomorrow, and for the months to come.

Crowdfunding

GoFundMe has compiled a list of local campaigns here. If you're interested in donating directly to an individual's needs, these campaigns are verified and will directly benefit the folks described in each campaign.

Suggest an Organization

To suggest a non-profit or other organization for this list, please email [email protected].

We will review every submission, and prioritize registered non-profits and organizations with a history of making an impact on their local communities prior to Hurricane Helene.

While I've made every effort to ensure only legitimate charities, organizations, and campaigns are included on this list, That Good News Girl LLC, Tiny Mic Media LLC, and all associated entites aren't responsible for vetting each individual organization. Donors are responsible for researching and verifying each charity before offering donations.
